Suspects in Custody, Two Firearms Recovered, After Early Morning Drive-by Shooting

Spokane police arrested two suspects in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred early on May 31, 2025. The incident, which damaged a vehicle but caused no injuries, involved Zachary Gring, 32, who had eluded police the previous day. Officers identified him as the shooter, targeting a residence and vehicle linked to a personal relationship. Both Gring and Allie Alderson, 26, who fled from the suspect vehicle, face serious charges, including drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of firearms. Alderson was also booked on a Department of Corrections warrant.

Surveillance footage helped officers make the arrests, demonstrating effective police work in the area. The Spokane Police Department is referring additional misdemeanor charges to the prosecutors' office as the investigation continues. This case highlights ongoing issues with gun violence in the Spokane area.
