Suspects in Custody, Two Firearms Recovered, After Early Morning Drive-by Shooting

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested two suspects following a drive-by shooting early this morning on Liberty Ave. and Market St. The shooter, identified as Zachary Gring, 32, had fled from officers in a previous incident the day before, where he faced charges for eluding police. During today's shooting, Gring fired at a vehicle belonging to a former associate, prompting an investigation that linked the two incidents. Officers apprehended Allie Alderson, 26, nearby, who now faces multiple charges, including two counts of drive-by shooting.

Authorities recovered two firearms, one of which was reported stolen, during the operation. A local citizen's tip facilitated Gring's arrest, which occurred without incident shortly after Alderson's capture. Both suspects were booked into Spokane County Jail, where additional charges are expected as the investigation continues. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding gun violence and domestic disputes in the community.
