Early morning shooting in Shadle area results in an arrest, investigation ongoing

Early on May 29, 2025, Spokane police responded to reports of a shooting at 4:30 AM in the Shadle area. Initial findings indicated that gunfire was exchanged between occupants of a vehicle and a suspect inside a home on West Rockwell Avenue. Officers detained a vehicle leaving the scene, which had visible bullet strikes. Two adult females and a child exited the residence safely, while suspect Steven Davis, 23, was apprehended shortly after. Following a search warrant execution, no additional individuals were found in the home.

Davis faces charges including 1st Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and 2nd Degree Assault, with the investigation ongoing. Authorities have not reported any injuries related to the shooting. The Spokane Police Department encourages anyone with information to contact Crime Check.
