The Spokane Police Department's Traffic Unit conducted a Click It or Ticket emphasis patrol on May 22nd, issuing 123 citations for various driving offenses over an eight-hour period. The infractions included 24 speeding tickets, 17 cell phone violations, and 33 for not wearing seatbelts, highlighting ongoing safety concerns on local roads. The initiative is part of a broader effort to encourage safe driving practices and compliance with state laws. In addition to the citations, eight drivers were arrested for driving with suspended licenses, and one was apprehended for lacking an ignition interlock device, indicating serious violations of traffic laws.
