City Closures Planned For Memorial Day

Spokane will observe Memorial Day on May 26, resulting in closures of City Hall, the Waste to Energy facility, and all Spokane Public Library branches. Garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will be delayed by one day throughout the week, with missed collections reportable online. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open, as will city golf courses during the holiday weekend. Spokane 311 will not provide in-person or phone services but will respond to online inquiries the next business day. The City Council canceled its meeting for Memorial Day, rescheduling for June 2.

On-street parking meters will not require payments, but time limits still apply. Hillyard Public Library will also be closed on May 25 for maintenance. The holiday closures aim to facilitate the observance of Memorial Day while allowing certain recreational activities to continue.
