Final Day to Request Disposal Passes Is May 16

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane residents can request disposal passes until May 16, as the program's funding is limited and expected to run out. The passes, which cover up to $30 in tipping fees, aim to assist residents in disposing of excess waste efficiently. Amber Groe, a Community Program Coordinator, highlighted the program's success with over 2,400 passes requested since March 1 and a total of 197. 70 tons of waste removed this spring. The initiative reflects the city's commitment to community cleanup and beautification efforts.

In the fall, disposal passes will be available again starting August 5, but distribution will occur on a first-come, first-served basis. Each neighborhood council will have its own method for distributing passes, so residents should reach out for specific instructions. The program aligns with the city's broader goals of reducing property crime and promoting community resilience. Residents interested in volunteering for neighborhood clean-up days can contact the city via email.
