Spokane police responded to a fire on May 7, 2025, at approximately 12:28 PM in the 500 block of East North Avenue. The initial 911 call reported a tree on fire, but officers discovered a shed and a tall pine tree fully engulfed in flames. The fire emitted embers that ignited smaller grass fires in nearby yards. Fire investigators concluded the fire was deliberately set, prompting officers to interview witnesses who identified a female driver seen leaving the alley prior to the blaze. Police arrested Jessie R.
