Government offices, libraries to close for Presidents Day

Spokane, WALocal News

In Spokane County, government offices and libraries will close for Presidents Day, starting with the Washington Department of Licensing, which is conducting a statewide system update. This upgrade is designed to enhance customer service and security, resulting in the suspension of online driver, vehicle, and boat licensing services until Tuesday. Although Spokane City Hall, Spokane 311, and the Development Services Center will remain open, the Spokane County Library District and various municipal offices will be closed, limiting public access to essential services. The city council meeting scheduled for Monday evening has also been canceled. Residents can expect that while parking meters will not require payment, regular trash collection will continue as planned.

Other local city halls, including Spokane Valley and those in Airway Heights and Cheney, will observe the holiday by closing their facilities. The closures highlight the impact of the holiday on local governance and community services. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly to navigate these temporary changes.
