Burgess, entered the bank but left without making demands or displaying a weapon, leading to a swift police response. Officers quickly found the stolen vehicle, a white Toyota Camry, abandoned after Burgess fled at high speed. As he ran from the scene, witnesses reported him discarding clothing and a replica BB gun, which he had used to threaten bank employees.

The timely collaboration between bank staff, community members, and patrol officers resulted in Burgess's arrest in a nearby backyard without further incident. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including first-degree robbery and vehicle theft.
