Two Fire Apparatus Involved in Accidents, No Injuries Reported

Spokane, WALocal News

On February 6, 2025, at 9:14 a. m. , the Spokane Fire Department experienced two accidents involving their fire apparatus while responding to a fire alarm. Truck 13 lost traction while descending a hill at West Rowan Avenue, sliding into a house on North Greenwood Blvd, where a resident was present but unharmed. A city engineer inspected the home and found no major structural damage, allowing the resident to remain in the house.

Truck 13, however, suffered extensive damage and will remain out of service until repairs are made. Following this incident, Engine 16 was called to the original alarm but lost control on the same hill, resulting in a collision with two parked vehicles, which were unoccupied at the time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from either accident, and Engine 16 is anticipated to return to service later that afternoon. The Spokane Police Department is assisting with the investigation, emphasizing the importance of safety during emergency responses. The Spokane Fire Department expressed gratitude for the lack of injuries despite the challenging circumstances.
