Spokane Police investigating overnight shooting

A tragic shooting incident occurred in Spokane on January 25, 2025, when police responded to a call at approximately 2:40 a. m. Officers arrived at the scene on East Heroy Avenue to find a young teen suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, but despite their efforts, the teen succumbed to his injuries. The Spokane Police Department's Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating the shooting, seeking leads and information regarding the case.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and the police have stated that the identity of the deceased will be disclosed later by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation. The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding youth violence in the community.
