City Closures Planned for MLK Jr. Day

Spokane City Hall and other city facilities, including the Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services, will be closed on January 20, 2025, to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. While solid waste collection will follow its normal schedule, residents are advised to have their garbage carts out by 6 a. m. for timely pickup.

On this holiday, on-street parking meters will not require payment, although all parking rules, including time limits, will continue to apply. The Spokane City Council will not convene on January 20, with council meetings resuming on January 27 at 3:30 p. m. Additionally, residents are encouraged to attend the MLK Day Annual Unity Rally, March, and Resource Fair, scheduled from 10 a. m.

to 1:30 p. m. Spokane 311 will be accessible for customer service inquiries, and Riverfront Park attractions will be open for visitors. The city urges community participation in events honoring Martin Luther King Jr. 's legacy while ensuring that essential services are maintained.
