City Closures Planned for the Holidays

Spokane City Hall will close early on December 24 and 31, with full closures on December 25 and January 1 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Garbage collection services will be delayed by one day, affecting residents with regular Friday pickups, who will receive service on Saturday instead. Residents are encouraged to place their carts out by 6 AM on collection days. The Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services will be closed on December 25 and January 1, while Spokane 311 will be available for inquiries on December 24 and 31 but not during the major holiday closures. All Spokane Public Library branches will close on December 24 and 25, with additional closures for various city departments.

On-street parking meters will not require payment on holiday dates, but all other parking regulations will still apply. The city is promoting the New Year’s Eve Fireworks event in Riverfront Park, starting at 9 PM. Residents are encouraged to check city resources for further details on holiday schedules and services.
