Future Spokane Valley Cross Course

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Valley is advancing plans for a premier cross country and cyclocross sports facility along the north shore of the Spokane River, already designated as the host site for the 2027 Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Regional. This venue will cater to a variety of race lengths and events for middle school, high school, collegiate, post-collegiate, and master's level athletes. Phase I construction is projected to cost around $7 million, funded primarily through lodging tax revenues and a $150,000 capital appropriation from the Washington State Legislature. Spokane Sports is a key partner in this initiative, aiming to position the region as a sports tourism hub. The facility is expected to drive local economic growth by increasing visitor traffic to nearby hotels and restaurants, while also promoting community engagement through off-season sports clinics and practice opportunities.

This project underscores Spokane Valley's commitment to nurturing athletic talent and expanding recreational options for its residents.
