Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested 45-year-old Justin McDowell for two armed robberies, the first occurring on November 2nd at a marijuana retail store. During this robbery, McDowell wore a Halloween mask and wielded a shotgun, stealing cash from the register. Investigators utilized video evidence and witness interviews to pinpoint him as a suspect. On November 7th, he committed another robbery at a gaming store, again employing similar disguises and weapons. Officers apprehended him that evening in the 2900 block of East Broad, recovering evidence of the crimes.

McDowell faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. The Spokane Police Department worked closely with local law enforcement partners to bring McDowell into custody. These incidents raise concerns about public safety in the Spokane area, prompting discussions on crime prevention measures.
