Officers responded shortly after midnight to reports of a loud noise near 2nd and Wall. Upon arrival, they learned the victim had already been taken to a local hospital, where his severe injuries required treatment at Harborview Medical Center. Witnesses described how a vehicle pulled up to a crowd before a lit firework was thrown, resulting in the explosion. The SPD Major Crimes Unit seeks assistance from the public to identify the suspect vehicle, with security photos obtained from the area.
