The event occurred shortly after midnight on November 8 near 2nd and Wall, where witnesses reported a loud explosion. Officers confirmed that the noise was not a gunshot, and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries. A vehicle approached a group of people, and a lit firework was thrown into the crowd before the vehicle drove away. Investigators with the SPD Major Crimes Unit are seeking community assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle, which was captured in security photos.
