Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested 45-year-old Justin McDowell on November 7 in connection with two armed robberies that took place within a week. The initial robbery occurred on November 2 at a marijuana retail store, where a suspect wearing a Halloween mask stole cash at gunpoint. Investigators identified McDowell as a possible suspect through video evidence and witness interviews. Just hours before his arrest, a second armed robbery transpired at a gaming store, showcasing similar methods, including the use of a Halloween mask and a shotgun. Police located McDowell later that evening in the 2900 block of East Broad and seized evidence related to both crimes.

He faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is currently held on a $50,000 bond. The rapid succession of these robberies has raised concerns about public safety in Spokane. Authorities continue to investigate any potential links between McDowell and additional unsolved crimes in the area.
