Spokane will activate new red light cameras at E Mission Ave and N Greene St to address rising traffic safety concerns. The Spokane Police Department has identified this intersection as one of the city's busiest, recording 18 crashes since 2023. A 30-day grace period begins on November 24, during which violators will receive warnings. After this period, those running the red light will face a $145 fine. Transportation Director Jon Snyder emphasized the importance of reducing injuries and fatalities on the roads.

Lieutenant Benjamin Maplethorpe noted that previous installations of red light cameras have led to reductions in collisions and speeding.
