Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested 45-year-old Justin McDowell for two armed robberies, the first on November 2, 2025, at a marijuana retail store on South Lewis Street. An employee reported that a man wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a shotgun stole cash from the register. Investigators identified McDowell after reviewing video evidence and conducting witness interviews. On November 7, a second robbery occurred at a gaming store, featuring similar attire and weaponry. Police located McDowell later that evening in the 2900 block of East Broad, where evidence was seized.

He has been charged with two counts of 1st Degree Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond. The swift police response highlights the collaboration between local law enforcement and tribal authorities in addressing crime. This series of robberies raises concerns about public safety and the prevalence of armed crime in the area.
