Suspect in Custody After Committing Multiple Armed Robberies

Spokane Police arrested Justin McDowell, 45, on November 7, 2025, after he allegedly committed two armed robberies in Spokane within a week. The first robbery occurred on November 2 at a marijuana retail store, where McDowell threatened employees with a shotgun while wearing a Halloween mask. Officers obtained video evidence of the crime, leading to witness interviews and collaboration with law enforcement from the Spokane and Kalispel Tribes. The second robbery, which took place at a gaming store, exhibited similar methods, with McDowell again using a shotgun and a Halloween mask. Following his arrest in the 2900 block of East Broad, officers seized evidence tied to both robberies.

McDowell now faces two counts of 1st Degree Robbery, with a bond set at $50,000. The swift action of law enforcement reflects a commitment to addressing violent crime in the community. Local businesses may feel increased pressure to enhance security measures following these incidents.
