Spokane, WALocal News

Tyrone L. Cliff, a 38-year-old former teacher, was arrested in Florida on October 28, 2025, on multiple felony charges related to possessing child sexual abuse material. The investigation commenced in August when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit received a CyberTip about Cliff's activities. Detectives identified him as a suspect and began preparing to serve search warrants at his Spokane residence, only to find he had moved to Florida. Local authorities apprehended him after verifying his employment as a middle school teacher in Hillsborough County.

The swift arrest resulted from a collaborative effort between the Spokane Police Department, Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Cliff now awaits extradition to Washington State where he faces serious charges. The case highlights ongoing concerns regarding child safety and the need for vigilance against online exploitation. Law enforcement officials stress the importance of reporting suspected child abuse to protect vulnerable populations.
