Spokane City Council to Consider New Camping and Obstruction Ordinance

The Spokane City Council plans to vote on the “Safe and Accessible Spaces” ordinance during a legislative session on October 27, 2025, at 6 p. m. This ordinance, which was discussed in the Public Safety and Community Health Committee, aims to enforce a ban on camping and obstruction on public property. It will grant Spokane Police Department officers discretion to either assist willing suspects or cite repeat offenders with escalating consequences.
