Spokane, WALocal News

On October 28, 2025, law enforcement officials in Florida arrested Tyrone L. Cliff, a former Spokane teacher, on multiple felony charges for possessing material related to child sexual abuse. The investigation commenced in August when the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit received a CyberTip regarding Cliff's viewing and downloading of illicit material. Detectives identified him as a suspect and began preparing search warrants, only to discover he had relocated to Florida. After his arrest, it was revealed that Cliff had been employed as a middle school teacher in Hillsborough County.

The Spokane Police Department worked collaboratively with the Tampa Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to facilitate his swift apprehension. Cliff's arrest underscores ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation and underscores the importance of inter-agency cooperation. He remains in custody while awaiting extradition to Washington State. The case highlights the growing concern over online child sexual abuse and the need for vigilant law enforcement responses.
