Spokane, WALocal News

On October 28, 2025, Florida law enforcement arrested Tyrone L. Cliff, 38, on felony charges for possessing material depicting child sexual abuse. Cliff, a former teacher at a Spokane religious school, was taken into custody following an investigation that began with a CyberTip received by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit in August. Detectives identified Cliff and initiated preparations for search warrants; however, they learned he had moved to Florida before they could act. After his arrest, Cliff was booked into Hillsborough County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Washington State.

This investigation involved collaboration between the Spokane Police Department, Tampa Police Department, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, resulting in a swift apprehension. Law enforcement officials emphasize the importance of such collaborative efforts in tackling child exploitation. The case reflects the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in addressing crimes against children in a digital age. Cliff's case will likely have significant implications for community awareness and legal responses to child sexual abuse.
