Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers

Spokane, WALocal News

Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of four soldiers killed in a helicopter crash on September 17, 2025. The directive follows Governor Bob Ferguson's order for state and U. S. flags at state agency facilities. The fallen soldiers include Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good.

Brown urges residents to join in this recognition by lowering flags at their homes and businesses. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset or the close of business, emphasizing the community's collective mourning. This act serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by military personnel. The city’s initiative aims to foster a sense of unity and respect among residents during this period of mourning. Such gestures highlight the importance of honoring those who serve the nation.
