Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers
Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of four soldiers who perished in a helicopter crash during active duty in the U. S. Army. The soldiers, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good, lost their lives on September 17, 2025. This initiative follows Governor Bob Ferguson's directive for state and U.
S. flags at all state agency facilities to be lowered as well. Flags will remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset in honor of their sacrifice. Mayor Brown encourages residents to join in this recognition by lowering flags at their homes or businesses. This collective act aims to foster community solidarity in honoring the memory of the fallen soldiers.
The tragic incident highlights the risks faced by military personnel in service to the nation. Such commemorative actions are significant in acknowledging the sacrifices made by service members and their families.
