Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers

Spokane, WALocal News

Mayor Lisa Brown ordered all City flags to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of four soldiers who died in a helicopter crash on September 17, 2025. This decision coincides with a directive from Governor Bob Ferguson, who also mandated that state and U. S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered. The fallen soldiers—Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good—served on active duty in the U.

S. Army. Mayor Brown encouraged community members with flags at their homes or businesses to participate in this tribute. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset or the close of business. This recognition serves to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by these service members.

The tragic event not only affects their families but also resonates deeply within the local community. Such tributes highlight the community's respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by its military personnel.
