Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers
Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff to honor four soldiers killed in a helicopter crash on September 17, 2025. This action aligns with Governor Bob Ferguson’s directive for state and U. S. flags at all state agency facilities. The soldiers being honored include Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good.
Mayor Brown encourages residents to lower their flags in solidarity with this remembrance. Flags will remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset, reflecting a community-wide acknowledgment of their sacrifice. This act of remembrance highlights the ongoing impact of military service in the region. Such tributes serve to reinforce community bonds and honor those who served. The tragic event underscores the risks faced by military personnel during active duty.
