Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers
Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in honor of four soldiers who died in a helicopter crash while serving in the United States Army. Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good were killed on September 17, 2025. This directive aligns with Governor Bob Ferguson’s order for state and U. S. flags to be lowered at all state agency facilities.
Mayor Brown encourages residents to lower flags at their homes and businesses as a sign of respect and remembrance. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset or the close of business. This recognition highlights the commitment of local leaders to honor those who have served. Such actions foster community solidarity in remembrance of the fallen. The City’s initiative underscores the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices made by military personnel.
