Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers
Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to half-staff to honor four soldiers who died in a helicopter crash on September 17, 2025. This directive aligns with Governor Bob Ferguson's order for flags at state agency facilities to also be lowered. The fallen soldiers include Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good, who were all on active duty in the U. S. Army.
Mayor Brown encourages residents with flags at their homes or businesses to participate in this tribute. Flags will remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset, signifying the community's mourning. This act of remembrance highlights the sacrifice made by these service members. Such tributes foster a sense of solidarity within the community. Mayor Brown’s call to action reinforces the importance of honoring those who serve.
