Flags Lowered for Four Washington-Based Fallen Soldiers
Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff to honor four soldiers who died in a helicopter crash on September 17, 2025. The soldiers are Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Cully, Chief Warrant Officer Three Andrew Kraus, Sergeant Donavon Scott, and Sergeant Jadalyn Good. This directive aligns with Governor Bob Ferguson’s order for state and U. S. flags at state agency facilities to also be lowered.
Mayor Brown encourages residents to lower flags at their homes and businesses as a sign of respect for the fallen soldiers. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset, marking a period of mourning. This recognition highlights the community's commitment to honoring those who serve in the armed forces. The helicopter crash serves as a tragic reminder of the risks faced by military personnel. Local leaders emphasize the importance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices made by these individuals.
