Female in Custody After an Auto Dealership Has 16 Vehicles Vandalized

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Katie L. Sims, 34, for vandalizing 16 vehicles at an auto dealership on September 19, resulting in an estimated $100,000 in damages. The incident began with an argument, during which Sims reportedly threw rocks at the vehicles. Officers contacted the dealership's security, who provided surveillance footage of the event. This video helped officers identify Sims, who was located the following day in downtown Spokane, still wearing the same outfit.

She was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Spokane County Jail. Sims faces charges of 1st Degree Malicious Mischief, a serious offense that reflects the significant nature of the vandalism. Authorities are investigating whether the repair costs could exceed initial estimates. The case highlights ongoing concerns regarding property damage and public safety in the Spokane area.
