Female in Custody After an Auto Dealership Has 16 Vehicles Vandalized

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Katie L. Sims, 34, after she vandalized 16 vehicles at an auto dealership on September 19, causing an estimated $100,000 in damages. Officers initially responded to the scene after reports of an argument, which escalated to vandalism when Sims allegedly began throwing rocks at the parked vehicles. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but security footage helped identify her. The following day, officers found Sims downtown wearing the same clothing as seen in the video and took her into custody.

She is charged with 1st Degree Malicious Mischief, a serious offense that reflects the impact of vandalism on local businesses. This incident raises questions about public safety and the consequences of such destructive behavior in Spokane. The auto dealership now faces significant repair costs, which could increase further. Residents are urged to report any similar incidents to help maintain community safety.
