SPD investigating fatal motorcycle collision area around Nevada and St. Thomas Moore Way will be closed temporarily

On October 7, 2025, at 1:22 p. m. , a high-speed motorcycle collision in Spokane resulted in the death of a 19-year-old male rider. Witnesses estimated the motorcycle's speed at 90 mph before it struck another vehicle, leading to the operator's immediate fatality. Earlier, Spokane police officers attempted to stop the motorcycle for lacking visible license plates, but it fled at a high rate of speed, prompting officers to cease pursuit.

Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, but the motorcycle operator was pronounced dead on arrival. Traffic Investigators from the Spokane Police Department Major Crimes Unit are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The area around Nevada and St. Thomas Moore Way remains temporarily closed as officials gather evidence.
