Female in Custody After an Auto Dealership Has 16 Vehicles Vandalized

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Katie L. Sims, 34, for vandalizing 16 vehicles at an auto dealership on September 19, resulting in an estimated $100,000 in damages. Officers initially responded to a report of an argument near the dealership, where a witness informed them that one individual had thrown rocks at parked cars. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified Sims and arrested her the following day in downtown Spokane while she wore the same clothes seen in the video. She was booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Malicious Mischief.

The damages could rise beyond the initial estimate, indicating a significant financial impact on the dealership. This incident raises concerns about public safety and property protection in Spokane. Local authorities emphasize the importance of community vigilance in preventing such acts of vandalism. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to help maintain safety in their neighborhoods.
