Female in Custody After an Auto Dealership Has 16 Vehicles Vandalized

Spokane police apprehended Katie L. Sims, 34, after she vandalized 16 vehicles at an auto dealership on the night of September 19. Witnesses reported an argument that escalated into property damage, with Sims throwing rocks at the cars. The damage is initially estimated at $100,000, but repair costs could rise significantly. Officers obtained surveillance footage from the dealership, which helped them identify Sims and led to her arrest the following day.

While walking downtown, she was found wearing the same clothing as in the video. The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding vandalism in urban areas. Sims has been booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Malicious Mischief. This case underscores the importance of surveillance technology in aiding police investigations.
