City Provides Construction Season Update
Spokane Valley updated the community on its Capital Improvement Program as the 2025 construction season nears completion. This summer, the city completed several infrastructure projects funded primarily by state and federal grants, enhancing safety, mobility, and quality of life. The Wellesley Avenue Preservation Project improved traffic flow near East Valley High School, while Greenacres Park Phase 2 introduced new sports facilities, including six pickleball courts and a splashpad. The city is advancing on three significant projects for 2025, notably The Course Spokane Valley, a dedicated cross country venue anticipated to generate $5 million annually after five years. Additionally, the Sullivan Park Waterline project aims to replace an outdated well, ensuring reliable water access without road disruptions.
Meanwhile, the Pines Road/BNSF Grade Separation project has initiated construction, focusing on bridge and roadway enhancements. These initiatives reflect Spokane Valley's commitment to investing in infrastructure that supports community needs and economic development. The projects align with the city’s strategic goals to improve connectivity and enhance residents' quality of life.
