Construction Project Changes

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's North Ash Street will undergo lane reductions from September 22 to 24, merging southbound traffic from three lanes to one between W. Indiana Ave. and W. Maxwell Ave. The construction is part of the Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety Upgrades project, aimed at enhancing the city's stormwater system.

Concurrently, Rockwood Boulevard will close entirely from September 15 to 17 for essential upgrades involving water, sewer, and stormwater systems. This section lies just south of Sacred Heart Medical Center, highlighting its significance for local healthcare access. Sidewalk detours will affect pedestrians, but local access will be maintained throughout the construction period. Drivers should expect congestion on surrounding roads, particularly on eastbound Northwest Boulevard. The city encourages alternative routes and adjusted travel times to mitigate traffic impacts.

Current obstruction information is available on the city’s construction webpage.
