Multiple construction projects in Spokane will disrupt traffic flow in the coming weeks. The city postponed the Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety Upgrades project, which will affect Southbound Ash Street from Sept. 22 to 24, reducing lanes from three to one. Significant slowdowns are expected, particularly during peak hours. Concurrently, Rockwood Boulevard will close to all traffic from Sept.

15 to 17 for critical infrastructure upgrades, including water and sewer systems. This closure is near Sacred Heart Medical Center, impacting access to healthcare services. Local access will be maintained, but drivers should prepare for detours. The city encourages residents to use alternative routes and adjust travel times to minimize delays.
