Construction Project Changes

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane’s construction updates reveal that work on the Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety project has been postponed, with lane reductions on North Ash Street scheduled for September 22-24. Southbound traffic will merge from three lanes to one, causing significant congestion in the area. Concurrently, Rockwood Boulevard will close from September 15 to 17 for vital infrastructure upgrades, including water and sewer system improvements. The project will also involve intersection redesign and pavement rehabilitation near Sacred Heart Medical Center. Local access remains available, though pedestrians should prepare for sidewalk detours.

Residents can mitigate delays by using alternative routes and adjusting travel times. The city urges drivers to slow down for safety and support local businesses impacted by the construction. Current obstruction information is available on the city’s construction webpage.
