Construction Project Changes

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's construction activities are set to disrupt traffic in September as two significant projects commence. The Maxwell Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Safety Upgrades have been postponed, affecting southbound traffic on Ash Street from September 22 to 24. During this period, drivers will face slowdowns due to lane reductions. Concurrently, Rockwood Boulevard will be closed from September 15 to 17 for critical infrastructure work, including water, sewer, and stormwater system upgrades. This closure will impact access near Sacred Heart Medical Center, requiring detours for pedestrians and drivers alike.

Local access will remain open, but metered parking will not be available in the affected areas. Residents are advised to seek alternative routes and adjust travel times to avoid peak traffic. City officials emphasize the importance of safety during these necessary improvements.
