Construction Project Changes

Spokane, WALocal News

Construction delays will affect traffic on North Ash Street and Rockwood Boulevard in Spokane. The Maxwell Avenue project has postponed work, causing southbound lanes on Ash Street to merge to one lane from September 22-24, resulting in significant slowdowns. Meanwhile, Rockwood Boulevard will close entirely from September 15-17 for critical infrastructure upgrades, including water and sewer systems. Local access will be maintained, but pedestrians may experience sidewalk detours during this time. The city encourages drivers to consider alternative routes and adjust their travel schedules to avoid peak traffic.

The Rockwood Boulevard project aims for completion by mid-October, with improvements including pavement rehabilitation and intersection redesign. Current obstruction updates can be found on the city's construction webpage. Residents are urged to support local businesses impacted by the construction.
