Age of Elegance Reimagined Showcases Local Furnishers to Raise Funds for Historic Preservation of D.C. Corbin Mansion, September 6-20

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's Corbin Art Center will host the "Age of Elegance Reimagined" event from September 6-20, 2025, which will feature guided tours and furniture sales to raise funds for the preservation of the historic D. C. Corbin House. Tours, led by interior designer and historian Cindy Blue-Blanton, will occur on select dates, and tickets are priced at $10, with proceeds earmarked for restoration projects, including the front veranda. The event's success hinges on the upcoming November vote on a Parks & Recreation levy, which could provide essential maintenance funds for the mansion.

Designed by renowned architect Kirtland K. Cutter, the Corbin House was originally owned by D. C. Corbin, a successful businessman in the railroad and mining industries. After Corbin's death, the house transitioned to the Parks department in the 1940s, becoming an art center over the past five decades.

The center aims to foster cognitive and creative growth through affordable art programs for children and adults. Those wishing to support the preservation efforts can donate via the Spokane Parks Foundation's website. The event highlights the community's commitment to maintaining its historical landmarks while promoting local businesses.
