Spokane's North Ash St. will reduce from three lanes to one lane from Sept. 22-24, causing significant slowdowns for drivers. Meanwhile, Rockwood Blvd. will close entirely from Sept.

15-17 for critical water, sewer, and stormwater system work. This project includes pavement rehabilitation and intersection redesign at Rockwood Blvd. , Cowley St. , and 10th Ave. , just south of Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Pedestrians may encounter sidewalk detours, but local access will remain available to residents and businesses. Authorities recommend using alternative routes and adjusting travel times to avoid peak congestion between 7 a. m. and 7 p. m.

The city emphasizes safety and encourages support for impacted businesses during the construction period. Updates on obstructions are accessible on the city's construction webpage. The project is expected to conclude by mid-October.
