Age of Elegance Reimagined Showcases Local Furnishers to Raise Funds for Historic Preservation of D.C. Corbin Mansion, September 6-20

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's D. C. Corbin House, now the Corbin Art Center, may receive vital preservation funding if voters approve a Parks and Recreation levy in November. The "Age of Elegance Reimagined" event, scheduled from September 6 to 20, will display local furnishings and feature guided tours led by historian Cindy Blue-Blanton. Admission is priced at $10, with all proceeds dedicated to restoration efforts, particularly focusing on the front veranda.

The historic mansion has served as an art center for over 50 years, providing quality arts programs that foster community growth. If the levy is successful, it will ensure ongoing maintenance and repair needs are met, allowing the center to continue hosting classes for all ages. Discounted private tours for groups of six or more are also available. The D. C.

Corbin House, designed by architect Kirtland K. Cutter, has a rich history tied to Spokane's development, including the donation of land for Corbin Park. Community members interested in supporting preservation efforts can donate through the Spokane Parks Foundation.
