Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

On September 2, 2025, Spokane police arrested Sergio Orduno-Gallegos, 31, following a standoff at an apartment on West Elliott Drive. Officers responded to a reported assault and learned that a No Contact Order barred Gallegos from contacting the female victim. Concern arose for two small children allegedly present with him, prompting a multi-unit police response, including SWAT and hostage negotiators. After unsuccessful initial attempts to contact Gallegos, police established communication, leading to his peaceful surrender at 12:30 PM. He was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of felony No Contact Order violation and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault - Domestic Violence.
