Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Rockwood Boulevard will undergo significant construction starting September 2, impacting traffic and parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project entails pavement rehabilitation, intersection redesign at Cowley Street and 10th Avenue, and essential utility work, including the replacement of outdated water mains. Traffic will be condensed, with north/south access allowed at the Sumner Avenue intersection, while Sumner Avenue and 10th Avenue will be closed for east/west through traffic. Drivers should note that metered parking will not be available on 9th Avenue and Rockwood Boulevard between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street. Sidewalk detours may affect pedestrians, but local access will remain open.

The construction is expected to conclude by mid-October, and officials urge caution for everyone's safety. This project aims to enhance infrastructure and support local businesses during the disruption. For ongoing updates, residents can visit the city's construction webpage for obstruction information.
