Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

The City of Spokane will begin construction on Rockwood Boulevard near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center on Sept. 2, requiring street closures and reduced parking. The project aims to rehabilitate the roadway with a grind and overlay while redesigning the intersections of Rockwood Blvd. with Cowley St. and 10th Ave.

Utility work will replace outdated water mains and repair sewer systems and brick catch basins. Traffic will be condensed, with north/south access maintained at the Sumner Ave. / 10th Ave. intersection. East/west traffic on Sumner Ave.

will close between Grand Blvd. and Sherman St. , and metered parking will not be available on 9th Ave. or Rockwood Blvd. Pedestrians may encounter sidewalk detours, and the project is expected to conclude by mid-October.
