Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

On September 2, 2025, SPD responded to a report of an assault at 2882 West Elliott Drive, where the female victim had left to seek medical treatment. Officers discovered that a No Contact Order prohibited the male suspect, Sergio Orduno-Gallegos (31), from contacting the victim. Concern arose for two small children potentially in the apartment, leading to a significant police presence, including SWAT and Hostage Negotiators. After initial failed attempts to contact Gallegos, officers successfully established communication, and he surrendered at 12:30 PM. He was arrested for a felony violation of the No Contact Order and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault - Domestic Violence.
